    a good loop sampler

so i just picked up a px-7 w/ pure phatt, and i want a good sampler for mostly just doing loop samples off vinyl, maybe a few drum hits here and there. i really want that classic crunchy hip hop sound, but looking at the eps+, s950, etc. it looks like 2mb of ram wont be enough for me. am i right? anyone have suggestions for another sampler that would do the trick for me? im looking in the 200-400 dollar range.

    thanks!

just checked out the s2000 and it looks cool. the screen seems a little small, and no effects, but i guess i dont really need that anyways. the one thing i didnt mention was just about setting loops points and a/d and all that good stuff. im asuming it has that function, but is it easy to do with that little display?

Really, anything is good for looping, but I would look at a phrase sampler like a MPC or Roland MS1, because honestly a "real" sampler like the s2000 (a sampler that keymaps your recordings) will make simple looping overly complicated. Hit me with any questions.

    har-har.

DOVESKI: MPC is healthily out of my price range, and the MS1 looks cool, but maybe a little too bare on the features. can you tell me anymore about the MS1? the things ive read havent really addressed what im looking for.

Will you be editing the loops on a computer? If you want the option not too, I like the Boss SP-505, though I mainly use it in my live set-up (big boys stay at home). I think it is a good first sampler as it has visual waveforem editing and decent effects. It is meant for loops. Also, it has loads of memory for the price range. They go at about $300.00 on ebay.

2MB is good enough! it's good to work with limits.
