    wut up every1...ok i have a mpc 2000xl..i made alot beats on it..and want to store it on my computer. wuts ur suggests

    1. could i save it on my zip disk and open the file on my pc into pro tools or somethin?

    2. is sumthin like the digi 002 or m-audio project mix needed? what exactly do they do

    3. do i need the optional 8 outputs on my mpc?

    4. would i need another pair of monitors? or is there a way to keep my monitors plugged in to the mpc and still listen to it on my computer...

    5. im looking for the cheapiest way to do this but any suggetions will help. thanks

    No. Playing your songs directly out of your MPC is your only option, unless you want to put a LOT of work in.

    Getting something with multiple channels is preferred. I don't know much about the project mix, but with the Digi 002 I know you can sync up your MPC to the Pro Tools MIDI clock, and record directly into several channels on Pro Tools.

    If you either have an audio interface for your computer that only has 2 channels in, or if you don't get the 8 outs for your MPC, you will need to record in 2 tracks at a time into Pro Tools with your MPC synced. That way all the elements of your song are on different tracks so a proper mix can be done.

    You don't *need* to, but it helps a lot.

    Cheapest: 2-channel audio interface with MIDI out (for sync), no 8 outs, monitor switch.

    Easiest: multichannel audio interface with MIDI out, 8 outs expansion on your MPC, monitor switch.
