Fantom Xa

Does anybody still use it or have experience with it? I want to MIDI it up to my computer using Sonar Producer Edition 3. It's been a while since I've messed with MIDI so I need to be refreshed on how to hook and sync things up. Keep it real simple for me and I should be ok. The problem lies in how do I setup up the Fantom to send and receive MIDI signals and how to setup Sonar to do the same. Sound card has midi, spdif and 1/4" capabilities.



I need Sonar as the master and the Fantom Xa as the slave.

why do you need to set up midi synch at all??

If you've got your midi sequence in the Fantom, just dump them over to Sonar, either by live recording, or saving them as SMF and drag and drop them to your PC. Play your sequence from Sonar, and the Fantom won't really know the difference. Everything will be in Sync, because the Sonar has control of everything. Regardless of how complicated the midi sequence is, it isn't going to put any real load on your computer.

But if you must, on the Fantom, go to system, then to sync, and make the appropriate selections, then in Sonar, go to options, project and do the same.
