Daisy Chaning multiple hardware synths to the pc plz help

Ok so I am trying to chain my esq-1 and my juno 2 to the pc via midi. I have my esq-1 midi out to my juno 2 midi in the midi thru on my juno 2 to my midi in on my pc and my midi out on my pc to the midi in on my esq-1. For whatever reason Sonar will recieve midi information but when i try to get it to send the note information back I get nothing. If I were to just use 1 synth the problem doesn't happen however. I called Sonar tech support thinking i configured it wrong and they said no I need to buy a dedicated midi interface for the other synth. That just doesn't sound right to me. I should be able to chain everything together right?

Try swappin the plug in the midi thru port on the juno 2 to the midi out port of the juno 2, so you have a serial loop. Out the pc, into the esq, out the esq, into the juno 2, out the juno 2, into the pc. Skip the thru ports and see what heppens. Also, check the corresponding midi channels that sonar is sendin out, could be sonar is sendin on channel 1 and the synths might be set to receive on channel 8 or something. So verify your midi channels first b4 swappin plugs around (cause you did say sonar is receivin midi, just nothin happens when it sends midi) then try swappin cables if that don't work. hope this helps.

Dag, helpin some over the computer is not as much as actually being there. Have'nt played with real midi in a long time, i know if i was there we'd figure it out in no time. And you said when you use just one machine it's all good right? So both machines work on thier own, they just don't get the midi back from sonar when you daisy chain'em? Hmm...let me ponder on it for a min, maybe the light bulb will have went off over my head once i eat lunch. Get some brain foos up in me.

I think signals may be getting crossed and you need something to seperate the 2 devices. But as said before, hard to tell without physically seeing it.
Two things that annoy me are people who are positive out of ignorance, and people who are negative out of bitterness. People who are neither usually get along with me and agree with most of what I say. People who are one of the 2 think I'm the other.

Juno MIDI THRU -> ESQ MIDI in
ESQ MIDI OUT -> PC Midi In
