I had a lapse of judgement, and left my Roland MC 505 out in my garage for a about a week..... It's below freezing in there, and I brought the unit in the house this morning after realizing it. I just ordered a fusion, and a buddy of mine that used to own a studio is coming to help me rig up my gear to work the way I want.

How long should I let the unit sit? It's a possiblity that condensation could have formed, my best guess is a few days, I would prefer to not remove the casing. I worked 3 jobs to pay for the 505 (years ago when it was new), and I'd hate to see it damaged. It's like a badge of accomplishment, plus it's totally usable.

Keep it somewhere warm for accouple days and use should have no problem. The longer the better but realistically, you could probably turn it on right now and it would be fine.

in regards to condensation, it depends on the moisture in the air. I would certainly allow it to warm in the house for a day or two, just to give any condensation the time to evaporate off the silicone.

Yeah. I'm too worried about it really. I used to have a midi controller that my cat dropped a bottle of fruit punch on. Thankfully it was off. I took it apart and cleaned everything, let it sit for a week and it was good. The air here is pretty dry, but the cold was pretty brutal. It's been sitting for about 2 days, I don't have any of my stuff hooked up, and it's going to be a few days until my new synth and stand get here. I'll turn it on then. Thanks for the info!

I wouldn't worry too much about cold affecting hardware. Heat is far more damaging. It got up to 42 degrees in Australia on New Years Eve. My studio is upstairs so it was even hotter becuase heat rises.

My MPC was warm to the touch when switched off (if felt like it had been runnin for a few hours). I didn't dream of switching it on....not even for 60 seconds!
