Hi. I am new to sampling, and am trying to hit the ground running with the Yamaha RS7000. Basically what I am trying to do is develop a "band in a box" using the Yamaha's sampler. My idea is to program a drum beat, then record the bass line (plugging my Fender bass into the Yamaha's input and recording it as a sample), which I could then cue up and play along with live, like a backing band. I've been running into some roadblocks, however, as it seems that the sampling mode lends itself more to things like single drum hits. For example, no matter what I do the bass line's volume seems to fade about halfway through the sample. It seems to have something to do with how the "release" is set, but I still haven't figured it out.
Can anyone recommend a basic workflow/settings I should use for this process? Thanks a lot!
