hey iv been recently looking for some nice MIDI keyboards and i would just like some recommendations by some pros, and i know there are a lot of you out there

im looking for a keyboard with preferably 49 or more keys, velocity sensitive, semi weighted (if possible), compatible with windows 7 and most importantly with a price limit of 100-150$

the ones i liked where M-audio keystudio and the Alesis Q49.. The m-audio one was too large for where im planning on placing the keyboard and the Alesis q49 isnt compatible with windows 7 for some reason..

I would get the Oxygen 49 in this price range.

Note: You can get some really good bang for your buck if you buy used from a reputable dealer like Guitar Center or MusiciansFriend.

For instance, in a quick search I did... there's a Oxygen 49 v3 used at Manhattan's Guitar Center for $59. There's an Oxygen 49 v2 for $39 bucks in Texas.

You could also get a used MPD18 for $29 bucks lol.

Ridiculous value. Nothing wrong w/ used gear. Stuff like this hardly breaks.

    There's even an Axoim 49 v1 for $150

How about the Axiom 25, 49 or 61? I have the 25 and use it sometimes

    1. If you play keyboard or are planning on playing keys(i.e. piano) get at least 61 keys or more.

    2. If you don't need the controls to control your DAW you could get away with a Yamaha PSR series 400 or better

    3. If money is no object M-Audio Axium Pro 61 & Akai MPK61 come highly recommended.

My recommendation is the Akai MPK49 or 61 if its within your budgets. It has alot of features like arpeggiator, note repeat (press and hold) for drum rolls, Semi weighted keys, MPC pads even though they could be better. I see them on craigslist for like $200. Peace
