So I know this topic has been beat to death, and Im open to links discussing it. But I just need a quick answer as I am going to buy one today.
I need a good but basic (not overpriced) Audio interface. Basically only to support studio monitors right now. As I don't use a Mic or any hardware instrument besides for one USB Midi Interface (oxygen 49). Thats not to say I won't need a guitar or mic hookup later. But I will never need A LOT of inputs. Monitors, Midi, Mic, guitar, headphone... Couldn't ever see me needing more then that in the near future.
SO. Any ideas pop up? I will just be looking on craigslists for used ones once I decide which one to go with because I also need money for monitors left over and I'm a student. Budget is flexible but Around 100-200 for the interface MAX. Then the monitors I will probably go with KRKs but thats still up in the air.
Running a Late 2013 15'' Macbook Retina with Pro Tools 11. Been running off Core Audio up till now. The main reason I am getting an interface right now is because I need monitors. So I figured if I am getting monitors I will need an interface too, otherwise Id be waiting on the interface until I got a Mic.
Obviously using headphones too.
