Help A Video Game Commentator Fix His Audio

Here are some old videos where I used the raw output of my SM58 with a dmp3 preamp (i think this is raw unless i deleted the older videos):

    youtube /watch?v=Zx1Y08gnO0A

here are more recent videos where i lower the bass and up the midrange and treble to try to make my audio more clear and crisp

    youtube /watch?v=oiUKwM0y550

my question is ive never been too satisfied with my SM58 i always found it to be too deep and low and muddy and muffled and whatever else you can say about it that says this mic isnt clear or crisp enough!!!

did I make a mistake using an SM58? should i have used a different type of mic? i am really not satisfied with how deep and muffled my audio commentaries come out. i would like professional opinions on this. in comparison to other commentators i think my audio isn't as clear as theirs but i think its still good but i think it could be better.

any recommendations on a different mic? i want a different mic that isnt so deep and muffled and is clear without having to edit it...

also are usb mics just as good as mics with a interface preamp etc? i feel like i went on a spending spree and wasted a lot of money when i bought this stuff years ago.

I'm thinking I should have bought this mic:
    youtube /watch?v=KFIV1glxoKo

seems clear without editing and just as good???
