Good mic for under $150

i just used a blue bluebird with the shockmount and the pop filter.. it sounded really good on my voice.. i have more of a deeper voice tho.. anyways like i said before I use a at2020 when at home and cant make to studio.. its pretty good but with any mic. u need a good pre/interface

I co-sign the suggestions for the MXL mics. I have an MXL 2006, my friend has the MXL V67G. Both have produced great results for the price.

Is your room treated? If it isn't then as good as condensers are for vocals, I wouldn't recommend one since they will literally pick up everything, including the person outside your house sneezing. So if you don't have your room treated then get a good dynamic mic (Shure SM58 or 57, Sennheiser e835). They won't sound as good as a condenser in a treated room, but you won't pick up as much unwanted noise. Those mics I mentioned go for about $99 each and can be used for more than just vocals. Björk used an SM58 to track vocals on one of her albums so you can make it work.

With the money you have left over be sure to pick up a pop filter.
