Will only 1 KRK RP5 do the job for now?

i'm on a tight budget and the guy at guitar center told me that instead of buying a pair of say behringer ms-40 monitors i would be better off getting just 1 krk rp5.. is this a good idea? i would eventually get the 2nd one..

No. If you have a speaker amp to power them, you're better off getting a set of bookshelf speakers than 1 KRK Rp5.

If you don't have a speaker amp, you're better off getting a 2.1 Computer Gaming Speaker set complete with a 200w sub for around $99.

With 1 speaker you cannot mix or percieve sound in stereo, which completely defeats the purpose of even having monitors. On top of that, it's an RP5, the dynamics on those are crap anyway which also defeats the purpose of having monitors.

While Computer gaming speakers or a pair of bookshelves isn't the best chain, it's arguably just as sufficient(if not better)than cheap monitors that will ultimately need to be replaced the same way bookshelves or computer gaming speakers would.

Tight budget? save more money until you can afford something decent. Don't buy one monitor expecting to do anything with it.
