If you got an untreated room I would go with something cheaper =
    < 500€. Try out Mackie Mr8's and Yamaha HS80

i just returned my adam a7s in the last moment haha i had a 30 days return policy lol!

adam presented their new upgraded a7x on the musikmesse and what ive heard is that they got a lot more of deep low end! plus they got the new adam xtweeters (yep the same ones like from the USD 5000 sx-series!)

damn i really think these can be superior in nearfield monitoring! i will purchase now one pair of dynaudio bm5a they are a little bit cheaper now and then i will keep the ones i like better. peace

I don't know if you bought new monitors yet, I would like to put my 2-cents in. If you have already, then disregard my message.

I own pairs of M-Audio BX8a's, Yamaha HS80m's, Event TR5's and Event TR8's. I also have mixed on KRK Rockit's. But anyway, when mixing, producing or whatever you're doing, you wanna have flat sound. I feel that my Event monitors work the best. The KRK's are good also, you won't go wrong with those 2.

I had great stereo imaging with the Event's, amazing detail and great balanced EQ acros the board.

The Yamaha's had poor imaging, but they had good detail. I felt they had a little too much low-end for my taste. I always heard certain frequencies in the Hi/Mid's pierce through the mix that really annoyed me. My mixes were never accurate with those.

I feel that my M-Audio's aren't too bad but not as great as my Event's. I would sometimes have accurate mixes with those, but it wasn't consistant. I felt the EQ was a little more balanced than the Yamaha's.

When I worked with the KRK's, they were very comparable to my Event's.

I hope my input was useful. Good luck.

Hmm odd, I haven't used them but have only heard good things about the Yamaha HS80's.

I had a chance to work on VST's 6. I must say the tight low end is just blowing every monitor in this price range. Of course it's all bout how u hear each monitor. Never heard A7's only A5's which owns KRK RP5's.
