The Adams totally own the VXT6's! Even the Yamahas are better than the KRKs...! The sub on the VXTs is tight but they are to expensive.

Yamaha MSP7's should be looked at in your price range. A lot of people on GS take them over the A7's.

the msp7s and the bm5as are a little bit out of my price range

i got the adams for 750 euros here in germany, the bm5as would be 950 and the msp7s 1050 euros

The speakers in the vote aren't even cloesly matched to each other. The A7's are probably the highest quality but the Yamahas are 8" so you will have a larger frequency range covered.

If you want quality, A7's. If you want 2 generally good speakers go the Yamaha.

I was wondering about the new yammies msp7's as well can't find any reviews or comparisons. Seems like the A7's get the best reviews everywhere you look.

It's funny I bet 2 years from now everyone will say the A7's suck and you need to get a pair of so and so that just came out last week they sound so much better in the mids, mid highs, low lows ect.. fuk it never ends. 5 years ago the Mackies were the only option now everywhere you look nobody likes them. Will it ever stop ? I'm starting to think a classic pair of Genelec 1032a's used for $1500 may be the better option or some old classics that have proven themselves over the years even.

In the world today it's not what's really the best but what's new, shinny and looks cool. The only way to be sure is to test them in the room you mix in and that's not possible for most people.

I was wondering why the fuk are monitors worth so much anyway ? it's worse than the mark up on jewelry without a diamond bezel around the sub.

I agree, I don't like that I had to pay $1000 (AUD) for my KRK 6"s. Damn overpriced and glorified bookshelf speakers if you ask me...

I am getting some new better ones soon though, just try not to think about the money

Yeah I hate paying for glorified speakers that most bookshelf speaker companies make for 1/4 the price.

i think the technology and the resarch of the companys is what you pay for. for example the event opal. event invested 4 million dollars into that project. now they must sell 3000 opals for 1500 dollars to get their money back and to make profit. it also depends on the materials they used to built the monitors thats why a quality genelec or adam monitor is more expensive than a plastic monitor from m-audios bx series.
