    Sound morphing

    does any 1 know of any good sound morphing software for pc, i was looking at that new prosoniq thing which looks sick, but only for mac. also if any1ns done any sound morphing i would be intrested in hearing/talking about it.
    also if any knows of any artists who do it well id like to hear that too.

    What exactly do you mean by 'morphing'? It's a pretty vague term...

    its sort of like a cross fade but instead of just a straight volume change from one audio file to another they fuse in the middle to create a whole new sound, i think morphing software analyses the audio and finds the same frequencies in 2 files from which it can then smoothy cross from one to the other. its not all that diffrent from visual morphing, just in audio terms, compared to a visual fade.
    have a listen to aphex twins come to daddy, in the middle theres a nice bit of morphing where he changes a human scream into some sort of feedback.
    sorry if this isnt amazingly clear im not that great at explaining stuff.

    that sounds like a digital delay that he plays with the tails of. or else it could also be splitting up the audio file and using small pieces of it to produce that effect.

    I have a mac. can you give more info on the prosoniq software? what is it called?

    there was an article about in a german keyboard magazine [keys].
    peter gabriel uses it.
