    You said that you liked the RS7000 because of grid mode....but doesn't the XL-7/MP-7 have grid mode as well? I, personally, LOVE grid mode - I consider it a necessity, so if the XL-7 doesn't have it, I may have to seriously rethink this whole thing.

    I don't remember the mp7 having grid mode. The rs7000 has 16 keys going across with a led for each. You push which ones you want active like FL. The mp7 is not set up the same way, it is set up in pads in keyboard note form. IT may have it, i may be wrong. Also, i don't think the mp7 has any sampling availibility. You can only use the onboard sounds and the expansion boards. But i may be wrong with this also. the mc-505 has grid mode though. I don't remember the mp7 having a big display either.

    The Command Stations DO have grid mode.
