    Roland MC-303 ??? Customized???

Okay, here's one for ya'll...I've got an old Roland MC303 that has been a paperweight for years--wrong power adapter was used and the main board fried--and i was wondering if anyone out there knows of any company or REPUTABLE individuals that could transform this thing into a midi controler or some kind of cool custom does-something-cool-or-useful box? I don't have the funds or personal electrical/engineering ability to do anything now, but i would love to know of what could be done in the future. I know i could go out and find a replacement board and hook it up myself, but this was only a mc303, not anything superduper (in my opinion anyway) and i wouldn't mind not having to heave the thing into the trash. I hate waste...

So, if there are any creative minds out there, let me know. thanks!

I do custom midi hardware, its not a tricky or expensive thing to do to a MC-303, something like $200AUD.

ahhh...AUD = Australia right? If I'm correct i'd spend half that at leaste on shipping. I'm in USA. If i'm wrong than please pardon my ignorance.

But what kinds of things do you do to a box like that?
    cheers

Yes the postage will be bad But its cheap to post it back to you (less than $40 AUD), I'll include the return in the price.

The sort of work I was thinking of was to reuse the channel select and function keys to allow the knobs to transmit to any channel and have their secondary functions (with the led indicators ). Then just setup the keyboard as a normal keyboard and all the extra keys as simple CC's. Basically you would use it just like before by selecting a channel and playing with the knobs, except now it would be assigned to software.

Learn as much electronics as you can, it helps if you are still at school. Then if you really get into it there are plenty of jobs.
