I think stability is far more important than being able to run bigger projects and if that's what OSX offers you then I think you have made the right decision.

OSX is cheap because Apple assume you have already covered the cost by purchasing their hardware.

After a long time, I've come to a conclusion, I use Logic Pro and want to get a mac but cannot afford one yet, so I'll have to build a hackintosh (actually didn't know that it existed until a few weeks ago :P), the question now is HOW do I build a hackintosh? Can I just use the same computer components like building a PC? Asus or MSi motherboard, i5 processor etc?

Two best choices: TonyMac or KakeWalk + TonyMac

Currently it takes a little geekdom and patience, but the results are worth it. I built mine using these specs: Kakewalk – Hackintosh » Computer builds But then i broke the rules by choosing a different motherboard, yet it's still a Gigabyte brand. The reason why Gigabyte boards are mostly supported is because Foxconn owns them and makes 99% of Apple's logic boards, thus the tech to run OSX is pretty much built in already. I use to build PCs exclusively with ASUS, but Gigabyte is just as solid if not more.

Nowadays Kakewalk's utility software (not to confuse with the music DAW) helps you get off the ground. TonyMac will take you to the finish line:

    tonymacx86

You can use TonyMac site without the need Kakewalk, and I recommend it that way. Don't be intimidated...all the software configurations and kext modifcations need to be done once, then you can clone the disk user SuperDuper and always have a fresh finished system on demand if you build another or your drive dies.

MOTHERBOARD AND GPU are the most critical choices you need to read about before you purchase. Make sure its supported with no outstanding support issues, or else you'll have to scour the forums to find custom files and kexts to get things working properly. At the same time, make sure the board has all the ports your need for your HDD/SSD setups. Likewise, make your GPU will support dual monitors if you need them. Some research is definitely in order. What you save in $$$ will cost you reading...but that's not a bad tradeoff unless you hate to fill the brain. Good luck, and get in touch as necessary.
