    Hi,
I have a simple question - what controller would be the best for Reason 3.0 ?
I've thought much bout it but I still don't have an answer...
I've been using reason without controller for some time and I'm definitely sure to buy a one.
I have thought bout some specific ones but I would like You to tell me what's your opinion.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ndryu
ps. I remind You this is goin to be my first controller, so keep that in mind , but don't show me crap , k ?

The Korg controllers integrate flawlessly with reason. They're great quality as well. Of course the midi controller you want to get should be based on your needs (not sure exactly what they are). But generally all around you can't really go wrong with the korg kontrol.

But if you don't need all these options and things such as the pads you can get a basic controller with a more appealing pricetag. The Radiums from M-Audio have all the basic functions you would need for midi (sliders and such for automation) and they're pretty reliable.

I personally like the X-station by novation because it includes a whole package of useful things (including soundcard). I'm a fan of controllers from CME as well.

question to Esthetix: if controller is not in supported list of remote 3.0 of reason then does it still work with reason? i assume that it works but mapping is not supported etc.

i was looking evolution keyboard controllers such Evolution MK-449C.

I also thought bout new Alesis Photon X25, but I heard it occurs problems when Ya connect it to pc - some people said that their mod and pitch wheel died (yes - they simply didn't work), some people also had some problems with working with alesis in reason... Anybody owns it and can tell me bout that?
I also sign myself under the previous question... Do I have to buy the controller from the list?

    Greets.

I think i've made my decision
It will be axiom 25 or something else that i have on my mind, but the other thing is more expensive. It will depend on my funds.
But after that i'mma buy some other thing:
Controller surface or Drum controller like MPD24, Korg PadKontrol , but for God's sake not Trigger finger I hate it.. Why? I don't know, i'm not a m-audio hater, i dunno... But what would be better? Im making rather electronic music , but sometimes imma do some beats for my brother's freestyle

Answer me a little question, please:
For example, if I have faders and knobs in mpd24 , can I assign them to control things like mixer or effects, filter etc..?

    STOP! I've found an answer
    It is possible

Now I have to ask myself - Will I use all features, knobs, faders of e.g. this?

    http://www.murauchi.com/MCJ/front/im...1132556094.jpg

My other opportunitty would be Novation Remote 25 SL - the only case is money.
I could order axiom today, right here, right now, and pick also MPD , but if I would choose Novation I would have "some" more features , but in that case i would buy mpd later...
    hmm...
    but..
In novation i have much more things to assign than in axiom, so I wouldn't need another controller that fast...
The other thang is that Novation is a thing that would be easy sellable and it's quality is v.good. in my opiinion so I could use it for a long long time (damn, it has many many features ).
I think i'll choose Novation for now, and after sum time I'mma think bout anotha controller (maybe i wouldn't have to if novation is that good as its said ) . And It would be better to wait i think, imma try everything , and tell myself , what i really need - a controller surface, a drum controller or even something else...

Greets from country where 20% of population are people without job :P

Ps. Sorry - my post is kinda hard to read ,cause I'm a lil bit hurry ..
Damn I just came back from my work I feel like a zombie, or like a buffalo with sucked up brain...

    Breathe kiddo...

I really think getting a Axiom 25 is a great way to go...I know I've been hollerin' it across three threads, but that's what brought me to post finally on this forum.

the axiom will give you what you are saying you want NOW (drum pads, fx knobs, and key controller) for that price you like, if you wanna up the ante get the ones with more keys...You've got a FULLY programmable 8 pad set on there WITH 8 FULLY assignable knobs on the 25, faders and other goodies on the higher models...

The Axiom gets the job done but if you decide to expand to the MPD24 or Trigger-Finger (still a great piece) you won't feel like a herb for buying the Axiom because it will still have such function in your studio...

That remote SL looks cool too...Doesn't interest me personally right now...

but tell me - if I assign a knob in reason in subtractor for e.g. for hmm controlling frequency and the other for resonance , and then i want to switch the device to malstrom or nn xt can i assign it to other stuff (same knobs) for example lfo amount in this other device, and then when i go back to subtractor will it be controllin the res and frq in subtractor or will it be the lfo from the other device?

The best for me would be a device with sum knobs, sum faders etc with 2 or more layers (to change parametres there are controllin) , of course mod & pitch wheel + sum joystick or touchpad -just something to control parametres on the fly etc., i don't need pads - I will have them on mpd . That would suit me the best , for now, cause, as i said - imma beginner with this kinda "hardware" if i could name this like that...

That sounds like Alesis Photon X25 - it has what i said - knobs(not faders but many knobs), mod & pitch wheel, other controller - axyz (3 parametres simultaneously), sum switches - that sounds good to me - I was already sure to buy it, but sum people on the forums said that it could create problems with programming. That was kinda strange, people just love it, or hate it .. I dunno , i have to ask some owner bout that. And that's controller i would pick + new MPD 24 (or padKontrol i have to think on this) ant that's it for now.

but as i said i have to be sure bout the quality of products I buy... gotta go for now , talk to ya later..

    edit:
hmm padKontrol doesn't have faders and knobs like new mpd...

edit2: yesss ill choose new mpd
with the controller i want to buy it would be a nice setup i think.. but what controller ....
