Yo Im trying to have me a custom PC built soon but I need some advice on what processors and Sound cards too look into. I know I want a PCI soundcard but not too sure on what kind of processor. I already know I need RAM atleast 1 GB and prolly gonna get a HD round 100 GB or highercus it seems to be cheaper the higher you go. Any suggestions though would be lovely. Thanks.

get what you can afford...and if you cant afford something...keep savin until you can...

Pentium 4 3GHz with Hyperthreading Technology
    ASUS motherboard w/ Intel chipset
    1GB Corsair DDR333 PC2700 Memory
80GB Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive (Extra Quiet Glyph Audio Drive)
Sony 16x DVD+/-R(RW) Drive (Extra Quiet)
NVidia FX5200 Dual Monitor 8x 128MB Video Card
Windows XP Professional Edition (Optimized for Audio Production)

I built my computer and those are my specs...about $600...and that entry level right there...you can go bigger...but you'll need a bigger budget...

It difficult to answer your question without knowing what software you plan on running. You don't want to dump cash into a system only to find out that your software won't run on it.

^^^ yea true shoulda added that. Well my main workflow right now is FL Studio and maybe Cool Edit and Acid Pro depending on what Im doing. I also want my Sound card to have midi support to hook up a controller. So I def wanna minimize latency as much as I can. So besides thoughs programs and various VST plug ins thats what Im gonna be working with. Im prolly lookin at about a 600-700 dolla budget. Hope that helps a bit

    need a little help

Sorry to change the subject but, this seemed like the best thread to ask this question: My wife just bought my son an mp3 player and I wanted to download some music for him and I have no idea what I'm doing. Any info on free sights would be greatly appreciated. Once again I would like to apologize to you all but, it seemed like the best place to ask seeing that this was a software/hardware question. Peace in not out!
