the mpd in conjunction with the reason redrum and sequencer is a good low-cost alternative to the MPC in my opinion.

if you are working with reason, just go ahead and get the mpd, seeing as if you got the mpc, all it would allow you to do when working with reason is to use it as a controller.

what are you planning on using it with? i believe its a USB thing right? so you should just choose the right midi input on whatever program you're using and you should be ready to go.

i want to figure out how to assign different drum sounds to the pads, so far when i use it in FL 4 it only gives me one sound and every pad gives me a different variation of the sound. i want to get to the point where i can assign the pads and have my kicks, snares, and hi hats all on there so i can play the beat.

look in your FL manual and figure out how to assign different sounds to different midi channels

by different variations of the sound do you mean pitched up or down?

you need to read some manuals and figure out how to change the midi assignments.. i don't use FL so i can't get much more specific..

the had the same problem with midi controller.what type of samples your you useing?because in FL i use the soundfont player alot and it not a problem no more.because the sf2 player lays your drum's to each key,you need soundfonts kits.but thats just the easy way i guess for me.
