What happend to this Forum? Where is everybody? Used to be an awesome site

I keep trying and trying to find something on here of excitement and inspiring but I rarely see anything. I come on here almost every day and its the same dozen or so people that frequent the site? I'm a simple bedroom musician that loves talking about gear (software and hardware)and what people are doing with it. Stuff like, crazy ways to control your software with your hardware and because I really do more experimenting than anything else. I'd just like to be wowed by other gear-heads who make noise like I do, not the latest greatest way to make beats, that has been done to death for over 15 years now. Kinda like Computer Music, Future Music and Electronic Music mags do, using your stuff in interesting ways to come up with some freaky shit.

That's all I'm trying to say, lol

Ok, for example, I have a bunch of diff gear and want to know what kind of crazy controlling I can do using my Fantom, Kaossilator pro and Kp3 with Reason. I would like to use the Kaoss pads to control stuff so I can experiment.

This site, while smaller than I might want, is still much more active than other sites ive been to. I still come here for information, helping new producers, and critiquing of my stuff. I dont even like hip hop, and seeing that this an 80% hip hop site, I still prefer this over pretty much every other site. Gearslutz has been looking promising, I might go start lurking there, but very few sites have a lot of visitors, and if they do, it usually ends up being like dubstepforums, and full of 13 year olds who wanna make money

I do think there has been quite a large group of people on here who are into hip hop and beat making but it really has always had a mix but an even larger group of electronic musicians who don't focus on the norm and venture out into crazy cool shit that has nothing to do with making every song on an MPC. You can get that stuff any where and its dull, boring and been done to death. I remember people on here that would just come up with crazy cool electronic music ( I'm not just talking about Techno and or dub etc) that is a lot more fun to listen to and make. Equipment and software are intertwined and we all should explore the crazy shit you can do with it, not to sound like a 70"s hippy. I guess my main concern is that you may or may not get a response tio a posting or even when you try to buy something from someone. I tried to buy three things on here and the only one that came through was a 16 year old high school kid. The others have never come through and honestly they seemed like they were shady and had bad feedback if you check their history. Crazy, why does it take like 3 weeks to get a 4 word response from someone? Then the dude was just an ******* about trying to buy his item. wtf. I was almost begging one dude to take my money, so my interaction with some of these jokers has been very disappointing to say the least. I have a good Idea, lets get our own stuff together and make a better forum of Future Producers together..lol
