Best sequencer / sampler / ipad app for live performance?

Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum so pls excuse me if I've posted this in the wrong section.

I'm totally new when it comes to sequencers / synths / samplers so was hoping one of you could give me some advice. Basically I am trying to incorporate some sampled beats and synths into my live performance, but done in the simplest way possible. When I perform I play guitar and sing so my attention is divided there and it seems most of the devices I've looked at today are pretty complex where you need a number of fingers in order to operate it adequately.

Ideally, I would like to be able to sample/create my own beats and effects and just have them assigned to something like a keyboard key, or even a foot pedal, that's within easy reach and I don't have to fiddle too much with it when I'm performing live.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should be using in this scenario?

I own an iPad and so have been looking at software for that as well that maybe could be linked with an external midi controller or something, so I'd be interested in the options for that as well.

Perhaps you could consider using something like "Icon - iPad" and connecting it to your iPad and triggering your samples in "Beatmaker 2" as it has a really nice interface for editing / importing and triggering samples on drum pads built in to it... The whole setup should cost you less than £40 / £50 (not including the iPad of course).
