alright, so ive got an mbox 1.

windows XP pro.

im trying to use my mBox as my main audio card to work with..

. Internet
. mp3 Players (winamp, itunes)
. Games (COD 2)
. basically everything, just use it as my MAIN AUDIO CARD.

so that i can run it to my speakers and not have to use my booty Stereo Receiver anymore.

Ive got pro tools 7.0 working fine as far as getting sound in and out of the mBox goes.

But how do I, if possible, use my mBox as the main audio card in which my computer sends sound in and out of, running out side of pro tools?

thanks yalllllll

Do you have another card installed? if so you need to select the mbox as the prefered playback and capture device in windows sound properties.

^^^Yup, You may want to disable your onboard/other soundcards completely to prevent any complications, sometimes mine used to reset to my onboard card. Not sure why.

nice,

did that...but now it lagssssss, like a *****.

i know in OSX you can adjust the buffer settings within the Core Audio Driver Program.

In XP does it have this function? or are PC, as usual, lame like that.

lol, just wondering!

I honestly have only used my MBox as an input and inside PT LE which I rarely use, I think if you adjust the playback and make it 44.1khz 16bit it will fix alot of lag. But I gotta hook mine up and check to see.
