Why do hip-hop drum kits sound so sh**

Please try our drum kits at Digital Drum Designs. We are a new company but we have been doing production & sampling for over 20 years. One of the reasons we started this company is because we are tired of the same drum on every record. Please take a listen & thanks for your time. Free samples there too & more to come.

Why do drum kits sound so

Not sure if that feed back was meant for us? If it was I understand. Maybe the examples didn't hit you. All we've tried to do is give people unique drums with quality. We tried not to give everyone the same drums they hear over &over. Or maybe you are the competition? Lol But thanks for the feedback.

Why do they sound like shit yet others use them to make awesome beats? (What I am about to mention has probably been stated already.)

Samples are not meant to be used right away. They're meant to be incredibly dry and flat so that producers can put whatever effects they want on them. What? We have to put effects on our drums? YES! People want to do different things with them. Sometimes some songs require dry drums. You have to use things such as reverb, compressors, etc. Not as much as you'd do on vocals but still. Even if you get a crappy drum sample, when you EQ and compress it, it sounds fine.

bro i ran into the same problem i found two kits i really like

Urban Fire 6 & Sounds In HD ( Acoustic Blends 1&2 and the 808 kit)

try them out

Because the Hypocrisy that most people have is a in a high level. You ask for drums they hand you the suck low quality they have. You have to understand they don't want you to be their competition. You got to find your way and break out your on box. I had to find HQ drums on forums myself from Dj's & people that willing to pass their knowledge and Tools to others. In this webpage 4 out of 100 people in this page hand something without talking about money. I know some of ya will get a little warm up about my paragraph , but that's all good. It will pass. I got helped few times why not pass it? Hit me up private and I will take a time to help you. Hope you get to read this because moderators be getting a little warm up when I speak the truth.

Good luck and never quit. I be humble and Respectful with those who deserved it.

I feel what youre saying, but none of the drum souds i have sound like the stuff you hear in modern rap. Hell the best drum kits i own are free! I understan you have to process them, but a polished turd still sounds like shit right? I dont have any hip hop vsts. All of mine are either synths or just traditional samplers none of which have hip hop drums. I have kontakt player but not kontakt.

At inverted, the goldbaby 808s are really good, but an 808 sound is hard to **** up. Im looking for acoustic samples that still have that hard, dry hip hop sound. Most kits i have are pre processed very unatural strangely sampled (the kick samples stop very suddenly instead of releasing smoothly) disorted very clicky etc which contributes to bad sound.

The best ice achieved was addictive drums layered over some 808 drums but addictive just doesn jave that modern urban sound.

I would sample off vinyl, but cant stand the noise and other imperfections, plus you usually dont get that natural release because of other instruments.

@Fnfup, $100 for drum samples is a bit steep because I don't know if I'll like them or not. Do you have any tracks I can listen to that used those drums. The sample beats on BFA site aren't great.

Drums are drums, and sounds are sounds. There is no such thing as "hip-hop drums" or "hip-hop sounds". Learn how to EQ and use compression. Learn what kicks go with what snares and whatnot. Learn how to stack sounds. Good drums take time and effort. As far as sampling drums from vinyl, you sample breaks, you don't sample the parts with other instruments playing.

You can use Compressor, EQ, or record it on tape and pass it thru holy water or whatever you want. If the sound don't sound good the first time you play it, The drum beat you want to make wont sound with full clean quality.

I created bangnslap.com because "hip-hop drum kits sound so sh**," thin, boring, and unusable. From the gate my plan was to make the best kits out, which has led me to have a following of mid-level and SUPERPRODUCERS who demand the best. If you listen to Rap or R&B you've heard my sounds already. I even dropped the prices of my kits for you & yours.

Seriously. I've bought many random drum kits online from popular sample sites.

Why is it that hip-hop drum samples are always so low quality. I mean, the drums are always so unrealistic sounding. And half of them always come with 5db of hard clipping! I'm not pointing any fingers (sonic specialists, producerschoice) but seriously?

Can anybody recommend some drum sample kits (not live kit samples like addictive drums or superior) that don't sound like ****?

NOTE: This is a pointless rant. I'm probably just a bit too pissed off today. F*** it, I won't hold back on you suckas..

Keep an eye on us, we release free sample packs and plugins weekly, hopefully they don't sound to much like ****!
