1-you need an 808 snare, a clap, and a nice compressor
2-this is parallel compression....you need a dry snare and clap track, now you need to duplicate those and make a snare and clap track with heavy compression/limiting.
3-layer them together and eq a bass boost around 100-200 hz
now you have a classic trap snare!

You should do mike wills 808's next I think he has some of the sickest 808's its prob the giy whos mixing it that makes it sound so good but if ya can figure out the method behind it do share

mike wills 808 snares or 808 bass? well i know for a fact most of his signature sound comes from the low pass filter he puts on his master buss track, i actually know the producer that taught him that (bricksquad/ymcmb producer), it gives it that underwater sound....
ill do a tutorial on that if you guys want! unless your just talking his 808 snares....yes they are lovely but they sound like the lex drums that are popular....
