Synth1 Newb Question

High, so I've been playing around with Synth1 and thought of something. Instead of clicking the keys on a piano roll, what if I bought a cheap MIDI keyboard and used it to play Synth1. Would that work???

Like does it still play the synth1 sounds no matter what sound I'm using on the keybaord or does it play the keyboard sound?

Would something cheap like the Yamaha YPT230 work fine for this since it's a 61 key keybaord and Synth1 uses 60 keys?

that would work. just get a midi keyboard. you can use any size midi keyboard for the most part because most of them have a function where you can go up and down to all the octaves.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that Synth1 "uses 60 keys"...but in any case, it might be a good idea to read up a bit on the basics of MIDI. The YPT-230 would work, although you'd need some kind of a MIDI interface to go with it - or better yet, an audio interface with a MIDI port as well if you want to use the keyboard's built in sounds as well.
