Sonar/ cakewalk

Thinking about upgrading from sonar 7 to sonar x1 or x2 one guy said the only diff would be better plug-ins but I use third party plug ins from focusrite and waves audio so I am debating whether or not it would be worth it. So should I get it or a new Vocal Mic since I don't have one and would one day like to start recording. Let me know what you think please.
 
X2 looks good, i wanna try it sometime. i know the old sonar ver.7... ver.8 was good. but X2 looks sick!!
I was just on the site reading the overview and i must say that it looks like sonar is looking better than cubase now days. I am a cubase user.
