which software do mainstream producers use generally ?

such as timbaland , ryan leslie , scott storch etc. i wonder that they use some special softwares or their own products ? can someone tell me how it works ?
 
Music producers use a variety of DAWs. I know that C418 uses Ableton Live and I think Deadmau5 uses FL Studio, but that's about it for my knowledge on that matter. If you're asking this because you want to use whatever music software "successful" producers use, I humbly suggest that you stay away from that state of mind, and just try demos of many different programs to see which one(s) resonate(s) with you.

The idea is to make music so dope that people will ask what DAW you use in some ill fated attempt to try and figure out the source of your talent.......just pick one and make it your bizitch.
 
they make beats on everything, but mainly (from what i've seen in interviews) pro tools, logic, fl studio, ableton, reason. also i've seen steinberg DAWs mentioned a couple times in interviews and SONAR but not as much. i'm sure everything has been used, clams casino on acid for example.

i wouldn't recommend buying a DAW because a certain producer does or does not use it.

for the most part vocals are done in pro tools.

Deadmau5 uses Ableton Live also. But it's true, try out some demos of different software. Everything else are skills, just skills, you can make good music with FL or Ableton or Cubase etc.
 
Any of these DAW's does NOT make different in complete product (track in this case) if you know what you are doing and know what you are up to. Choosing DAW is all about your personal preference. You can put up as good track with FL or for example with Ableton or Reason. It's honestly just about what you like to use. I found FL studio the most easy to get used to and I have been using it for 5 years now. I wouldn't change it to any other DAW's. Hope this helped to clear your mind
 
I can't believe how many people in here think that many people use FL studio haha. FL studio is a joke in the industry.

Pro tools is RARELY used for production. Its used for mixing and mastering. Logic/reason/Ableton Live/Cubase are the main 4. FL studio is what noobs start out on then get used to. No ACTUAL talented producers who don't hand draw their tracks use Fl studio..there are SOME i guess. But not even close to the amount people are saying in here.

I don't even know where the hell you guys are getting your information lol.
 
yumid you have no idea what you're talking about. a lot of big producers use fl studio.

and hand draw? GTFO yes you can draw **** in the piano roll but i use fl studio (ableton as well) and i record myself playing the midi keyboard in FL. you can play drums on a drum pad etc.
