Simple Sound Forge 10 question please

I am trying to learn to master using Izotope 5. So when I preview it I need the part of the track that is most busy. Except when I preview it, it starts at the start of the track. If I select the part I want, it only changes that part and not the whole track.

What i am asking is, how can I preview a certain part of the track, but still effect the whole track when the effects are applied?

Apply the effect first.
Then highlight(left click and drag)to select the part you want to preview.

Don't use the first play button,the second one will play the highlighted area only.
