Pro tools Cpu questions

Hey guys,
I was wondering if it is bad if when my laptop is running Pro Tools MP9, it is using 130% of my cpu power (according to activity monitor)? Also, when running maschine, massive, and a couple of other VI's, pro tools only says about 20-40% of my cpu is being used for rtas plugins. Even though this is the case, occasionally my computer will glitch out for a second, pause the session, and bring up a pop saying something about my cpu and suggesting to raise the HWC buffer size. Why is this happening and is there anything I can do to help it?

You should be able to freeze your virtual instruments in order to reduce the strain on your CPU....or alternatively you could ditch your hipster facebook machine and get a proper computer :p.
