Kontakt 5 samples disappearing

Ill randomly be working in pro tools 11 while I'm hosting komplete ultimate off an external hard drive when my midi track will stop playing back. When I click on the kontakt plugin to see whats up an error pops up "A sample has disappeared from Kontakt"


The sample is still there because eventually it fixes itself, at least I'm assuming it'll fix itself this time, it fixed itself the first time. This time I came right here to ask when it just happened again.


Anything I can do to stop this from happening?

put the libraries onto the internal hard drive - what is happening is that the disk is being lost by the system hardware manager when it does a refresh of available system resources, perhaps for only a few micro-seconds but that is enough if it happens in the middle of playback
