How can I make a regular Kick Drum sound like a Synth Kick Drum?

I want a way to make a regular kick drum have that bass sound that you can get with a 909 kick. What effects could I add to my regular kick to do this?

It doesn't have to be the exact same sound as a synth drum, otherwise I could just replace the regular kick with the 909 kick, I just need it to sound more punchy whilst remaining a regular kick.

You could layer two sounds, combine it with a sine wave, use a subharmonics generator or just mix it really good.

layering is cool and all but to get a synth drum, you synthesize a synth drum.

Noise.

Layer a short 808 type sine underneath.

Use a frequency analyser to tune it to the fundamental
