I've been trying to figure out how to do this for a while. This is what I'm trying to do, I want to make some beats in a drum machine/mpc type vst and then while the beat is playing, cycle through a bunch of drum kits to see if anything sounds interesting or gives me an idea. I know I can cycle through the presets in drumaxx pretty easily but when you cycle to another drum kit the beat stops and you have to play it again, not that big a deal but would like it to keep playing while I'm listening to the different sounds the kits are making.
Does anyone know of any drum machine/fpc type vsts that will let me do what I'm trying to do?
On a side note, I'm also a programmer and ultimately would like to make a ton of drum kits programmatically then cycle through them as well, looking for happy accidents, but I'll save that for another day
