Recommended Software

Having a hard time deciding what to get, used reason 4 for a couple months and pretty much the only software i have any experience with, was looking at reason 6.5 but see in alot of places its not always the recommended software. Pretty much just want to make music for myself and edits to dj with, would prefer whichever software has the better time stretching and and ease of cutting samples from songs. Don't plan to record much but will get an interface to record basic vocals and a synth and my ios devices. Have osx btw. Thanks fp fam

seriously if reason works for you go for it - I use
  • reason 4 and 6.5,
  • Cubase 5.5.3,
  • finale notepad 2k5,
  • reaper,
  • audacity,
  • pd (pure data - a GPL version of Max),
  • audition

- each has its place in my creative work and each has its pros and cons

- the only limitation to using any software is your imagination and your fears

- anyone who says different is allowing their personal biases to cloud their judgement
