Kicks in reason4

Im trying to get that bass kick we can hear on rick ross or young jeezy records.


Any advice??

808? Thor has some nice kicks. Its in the percussion folder in Thor.

is it 808s???? because when you listen to those songs the kicks itself have different notes and when i do this with a 808 and change the pitch in redrum it dont sound right.

Thats because its its a single sample, you have to pitch it to the right note, if you go to Thor like I said there is an 808 bd patch and its generated synth like a real 808 so you can play it in key.

Any advice on how to compress and eq it to get a nice sound?

Just mess around with EQ, etc. until you feel it sounds right.

It shouldn't really need any processing, if its not fitting right more than likely its something else. That patch is really clean, and sounds big, if you have the speakers to hear it.

Use the one in Thor. Trick is to turn the volume down low so it can breath instead of up high. The EQ on the 14:2 mixer is set to 78hz. Once you get it at a low level, boost the EQ on the mixer a little and you're good.
