    I tried that out because it was bundled with interface and drumpads and midimixer.
    Didn't like it much.

    I've been using it since version 6 - just updated to Live 9 last week.

    For those without formal musical training or those who like to jam - it has no peer. If you compose, then it may be lacking - although it is flexible enough to do things that other DAWs like Cubase and Sonar can (had both prior to Live).
    It's all in the hips.

    I love it! It has it's ups and downs, but, great overall.
