How do I install vsts to cubase?

As the title suggests, I have no idea how to get third party plugins (such as massive) onto cubase. It probably sounds stupid, but I am brand new to cubase so I have no idea how to do this.

Install the plugin into the VST plugins folder within the Cubase installation folder

or

install the plugin where ever you want and add the path to the directory/folder to Cubases plugin informations
