How can one "record" the hot cues/warp points for sampling in Ableton 9?

I am new to Beats making...

Please, how can one "record" the hot cues for sampling in Ableton 9 by pressing the buttons like in the video below so that one does not have to clicking the warp points with the mouse and slicing/converting to a midi track?

Sample "recording" starts at 1:05, Sampling starts at 1:30.

It seems to me that this is a more intuitive/mpc like style of workflow... How do you do your sampling?
