My ideal set up is where I can load a sample into Kontact and assign it a midi channel. Then selecting a midi track in Cubase SX with the same midi channel as the Kontact Instrument. This way I can record midi information in Cubase which will then playback the instrument in Kontact. If I then select another midi track in cubase, with a different midi channel assigned, the sound that I hear would be another instrument in Kontact with a corresponding midi channel.
At present I can assign a kontact instrument a specific midi channel. The only way I can hear this sound is by setting my USB Controller Keyboard to the same midi channel as the kontact instrument settings. If I select the same midi channel on a Midi track in cubase and record, no midi information is recorded.
