Buffer Rate and Latency Issues In FL

I have a Gateway Dx4200-09 running Windows Vista 64-Bit

when i first got tha computer i had to increase tha buffer size to make it so there wasnt any crackling in FL when i had a few VSTs open playin at tha same time.

And it sounds like my bass isnt hitting as hard as it normally would.

But then I bought a Rocketfish 5.1 Soundcard from best buy and today when i hooked it up... It didnt do anything

I still have to increase tha buffer rate and all that... So what should I do?

Is there certain drivers that I need? or should i get a different sound card?

Any help is apreciated

Actualy I did that alredy, but when I switch to them in tha FL Studio Audio Settings there isnt any sound at all.. I didnt understand that becus on my last computer when I did that it fixed this exact same problem...
