akai mpd 16 latency problem!!

I'd offer knowledgeable advice and a clear path to solving the problem, but it's clearly not what is wanted.

I also had some crazy issues with the MPD16 when I first got it. When hooked up by way of USB it would double trigger, not trigger and/or be real late. And it is not my audio interface. I now hook up the MPD16 with the USB (only for the power) and use the midi port to connect it to my Midi interface. I just disable the MPD16 USB in Nuendo and use the MPD16 thru the midi cable. All is well and it does not double trigger or any of that ****.
You guys can argue all day and night, but the drivers for the MPD16 are crap. Just my $.02.

Seems egos get in the way in a lot of these threads... I need help n I'm confused as well... I hope I'm not breaking a rule here but this seemed like it makes sense or will help 2 some degree
