I am using the default BCF2000 setting in live. The arm tracks leds only respond to my mouse on the screen. When I press the arm tracks button nothing happens, I have to grab my mouse to arm / disarm. The leds do light up correctly. am I missing something? The encoders are working fine, IAccording to the live lessons the lower row arm the tracks but not for me yet. jSorry to ask a newbie question..Things have come a long way since I was recording in London on the Ampex reel to reel in the late 1960's Thankyou so much for reading this J

Try Mackie Control mode... If you just want you pan pots, faders, etc to be controlled.

Power off your BCF2000 and hold the 2nd button in the second row towards the top while pressing power in the back of the BCF.

In Ableton hit CTRL+, or go into preferences, then the Midi Sync tab.

Control surface should say MackieControl
Input should say BCF2000
Output should say BCF2000

Dont worry about the Midi ports section below.

To arm record from this mode...hold the top left button where it says encoder groups....while holding press the button you would like to select your track from the second row of the 16 buttons...

BCF is or Makie control in general is like a computer keyboard at times with shift keys to do more than you may think.

Take a look at this also...If you get confuse by the modes.

You are so kind. I will try this later. As I mentioned everything else worked just those pesky two rows of buttons.As mentioned in the newbie section I have read the manuals however I am grateful that you took the time to help..I will keep you posted.FYI I started out with a cassette Fostex back in the day..then a Fostex Hard Drive Unit and now Ableton which I love!

Cannot get it to change modes.

When I hold down the second button in the top row..or the fourth...power up it just goes to P-1 Here is a image of my Midi Preferances

Cannot get it to show any emulation modes :hmmm:

Is ti possible it is something to do with the Toggle On Off Stuff...on those buttons. As I mentioned Rorary and push encoders work.Although it seems you have to push them twice to activate. Fader work fine.

Thats cuz you don't select BCF2000 from the control surface...You select MackieControl. I think soon as you do that your faders will jump.

BCF2000 isn't an actual Mackie, but it emulates it and supports various commands sent and received to it.

This is how mine looks and it all works fine.

I men't to ask are you using Midi cables or just straight from USB? What I've been telling you is straight from USB that's why there's no port numbers in my shot.

Using USB Cable. I cannot get the BCF2000 to change to Mackie or any of the other modes. I hold down the 2nd button, power up and it briefly shows 3 numbers NOT letters and then goes to P-1. I also dowloaded new drivers for 64 bit as well. I really appreciate the help....Trust me I read everything prior to bugging the forum.

Hi there I think I have come across my issue. While I can map my faders, encoders etc, my 16 pushbuttons are not sending a midi signal. That would stop me engaging emulation.......? Any idea how to "free up those 16 buttons" They just do not respond to the mapping......Thanks in advance
