Are amp modellers better than tube amps?

Hello,

Now I know this is a very vague question, one with many answers. So i shall explain further..

I'm doing some market research into what direction guitar recording is heading in and looking into if tube amps are becoming redundant in todays tight budget/ noise restriction /bedroom studio dominated recording industry. I'm trying to find out if producers and guitarists feel that amp modellers sound as good as the tube amps they emulate (Think Guitar Rig, Positive Grids Bias, Fractal Axe FX, Kemper Profiling amp etc) and if the recording industry will (or should) move away from tube amps. Or on the other hand do tube amps offer something sonically that digital modellers can never replicate, and is there anything that amp modellers need in order to sound as good or better than tube amps?

If anyone has experience (or even just an opinion) when it comes to tube amps and modellers, please reply to this thread and let me know your thoughts!
