What kind of ear phones are best for making beats

Im looking for quality earphones for mixing and mastering my beats because where i come from the earphone are cheap and fake so guys i need some help

Really no need to start another headphones thread mate.
There are tens of threads on headphones on this forum.
And over at gearslutz there is a thread on mixing headphones that is older than my mum and longer than the earths equator.
Search this forum or google it.

Really you don't want to mix and master on headphone's. Headphone mixes only sound good on headphones, but if that's all you have to work with I would go with Audio Technica (any version of the M50), or you can go with beats by dre...if you do happen to get beats by dre, get the pro ones. Quite expensive but worth it.

1 - no headphones are good enough to do the job you are asking about.

2 - in spite of 1 you should use headphones to check that the mix works in that medium, but a range of headphones and ear-buds should be used in doing this

3 - avoid beats by dre at any cost - over-hyped and under-spec'd to the point that they alter your perception of the sonic and musical value of your mix

4 - expect to spend at least $1k for decent flat, clear monitors

1k for a decent mix? That's crazy why would they have ns10s in every studio I'm not trying to be confrontational but I don't know why you would need to spend that much

Beats... where do I begin... I'd rather donate that money to the less fortunate

Its good to mix on headphones.
Mix on a good pair with a relatively flat range and then see how that transfers into your monitors, your car and your laptop speakers. 90% of people listen to music in their car and on headphones.

KRK 6400 headphones, great quality for a relatively low price, you could also fork out the extra money and get the 8400s which i believe have memory foam in the padding around the ears!

dumb response. You referred him to a thread that you said is old. Therefore the options may have changed by now.

Anyways, the most recommended I've seen are the Beyerdynamic DT 770 or 880 Pro and Sennheiser HD-650. You should be able to go to a guitar center and audition them.

Dumb response. It´s old as in started in 2010. It has 2191 replies, 347 287 views and cover as good as every mentionable headset out there. The last post was 2 days ago.

Btw, DT 770, HD 650 and HD 800 are my 3 fav headsets from my own little collection

what would be the point of fp if you just refer people to other sites? lol. And he doesn't know those guys he may want the opinion of ppl he's familiar with here. No need to be stupid about it.

I don't think it was dumb. I'd say with the knowledge of other threads around with the same subject you have a lot more access to information and can get a much broader view of what there is available and what to consider. On the other hand, saying that he shouldn't check it out because people over here might as well answer his question, would be dumb indeed.

No need to be stupid about it.
I´m glad you came that conclusion

Read my post. I mentioned existing headsets posts here at FP too but hey you did not see that did you..
Every user is encouraged to search before making a new thread.
Although he is searching for headset for making beats, it does not differ much from headsets for production/mixing.

Frankly; the intention was to help him finding good threads on the subject.

Here is a headset thread search at FutureProducers

ns10's are mid range near field monitors: I've used them and they colour the mix - I also have cheap a$$ car stereo boxes, general hifi speakers, computer speakers and whole bunch of of pa gear aligned for a flat response (4 way and 3 way systems).

As with any thing in real life (with a few exceptions) you need to pay more to get better quality products; in the case of speakers that better quality is found in flatter frequency response - creating speakers with a flat frequency response is impossible (the downside of the real world) but getting close costs a lot of money as there are many different facets that come together.

Of course you can apply some form of monitoring eq to make it seem that your speakers and your room are treated but at the end of the day it is not the same as working with the real thing.

One set of high end monitors I was considering were 5k per box - with kids still at home that is unreasonable without all of my employment pulling in more maybe in a decade when they have all flown the nest.......

fp doesn't keep search results very long hc; so here is a short list of threads since the start of November 2013

Yes I hear that kids are expensive as hell...low but I get what ur saying I look at some of the stuff in sweetwater and it makes me depressed that I'll prob never be able to afford 90 percent of what's in there...

re

avoid the kids and it will be easier.

really 1000 is nothing for monitors, unfortunately. NS1s arent really good, they are more like a sm57 of monitors. Common, well designed, forgiving, and easy to work on. Since everyone has used them they are a good bassline for when you dont know the room or monitors well. Most studios have other near fields and mains as well.
