Racing Wheel Pedals as Midi Controller

I just recently picked up a cheap racing wheel from Goodwill the other day and thought of a great idea. What if I were able to use the pedal axises to control midi. I could bind the throttle to a cutoff filter and the brake pedal to the reverb send and place it underneath my keyboard and use it as I would a sustain pedal while I play the keyboard. Wouldn't it be great to not only control 1 thing but 2 things while having both hands on the keyboard?

Basically what I'm asking is what would the easiest method be to use my wheel pedals as a midi device?

cool idea, there should be an instructable on how to do it - you would need to use it to drive a uart that can convert your movements to MIDI messages

Try searching "joystick to MIDI" or "gamepad to MIDI" - there's several solutions to this, and I'm fairly sure they'll also apply to wheels & pedals.
