I recently just purchased my akai mpk25 and I'm looking to know everything on how to set it up to fully use on garageband, any helpful tools and tips using this on garageband, and anything else useful that will help me make my beats.

    Hi Claude,

I was looking for the same answer - I just got my (used) mpk25 and it works great, since I play on the keys and pads. However, couldn't figure out how to make stop/play and rewind back/forward buttons work, they just simply won't do anything.

Mpk works great on fl and Ableton. So, I guess something is wrong with GarageBand setup.

As I see this is the quite old post, so didi u figure anything out?

    Your help would be appriciated!
    G,K.

    Hi
I hope you got it sorted. I have one which i use with the Roland MC909. If you are using it to start or stop an external sequencer, then you may need to look at the settings on your MIDI In on the sequencer and set the MIDI IN to REMOTE, which means it will start and stop via the MPK transport controls. I found fiddling with the settings sorted it for me ok. Hope it helped or maybe you already have it sorted.
