So I'm working on a new project and i'm gonna need some really crispy guitar sounds. i currently have the Avid Mbox mini which has a built in preamp already, i have been told however that i will get a way better sound if i hitch up an external preamp to my mbox and i did some reasearch and found a super sexy pre-amp by summit. it's an extra 300, and i just want to make sure that this is worth it. i'm very inexperienced and i dont know if more experience in mixing the guitar will make up for not having the pre-amp or if i should get it. mind you i am severly strapped for cash and on a strict time/money budget for this upcoming project.
