ok so whenever i hear about yamaha support.. its always negative..
i have yamaha a3000v1.. some might remember my attempts to get a free upgrade from teklab.. he's out of upgrades..
so i emailed yamaha last night
----
hi.. ill try to make this short
i am an owner of a yamaha rm1x and a yamaha a3000(v1)
i am reasonably satisfied with my decision for purchasing the rm1x, but
the a3000 i'm not as sure
i hear i need to pay $50-150[?!!?!?!] to get version2
i think that is crazy..
honestly.. i am a student and i dont have that kind of money.. if i had
it.. i probably would have saved up for an ex7

is there any way to get a cheaper if not free upgrade?
whats the deal?

thanks..

Hi Jordan,

The Version 2 Upgrade kit for the A3000 is no longer available. If and
when I get a hold of the version 2 chip, I will mail it to you free of
charge.

If you have further questions, please call our Tech Support line at
714-522-9000.

this email didnt sound very promising... that and i didnt give them a correct zip code for my address so i had to change it
the guy on the phone typed in my case number and found out whats up..
i gave him my new zip code and he said he was relay it to Martin.. i asked if yamaha doesnt make the chip anymore and how would i get one. he said they dont exist anymore or somethin and martin is going to "personally" hunt for one for me..

ok so with that said.. who here thinks im ever going to get a free upgrade?

yeah they do rather well i am waiting for them to post me my dx200 editor, it didnt work on win2000 but as soon as the 2000/xp editor is out i'll have one asap :D
