Volume Control Help for Roland

When I put a sample on my SP-404(SX) the volume of the individual sample tends to be unpredictable. I use ableton to record beats and synth, then put the wav file onto the sample. Even when I lower the volume in ableton excruciatingly low, the sound always seems to get super loud again. I have the opposite issue with my bass parts, where no matter how loud the wav file I export from ableton is, the sound is barely audible. When I was wondering was if there is any sure fire way I can raise and lower the volume of a sample for the SP-404(SX) either on the sampler or on the computer.

Do you have a program that can handle batch processing and also detect RMS and not DBFS? (Wavelab ect) it would also help to know how you are set up what do you use to sample in with do you have a mixer how is it all connected?

to adjust the volume from the 404 press the pad to edit press the start/end/level buttom and ctrl 1 changes the start time ctrl 2 changes the end time and ctrl 3 adjusts the volume.
