Using a MIDI keyboard as a sampler

Does anyone know any software that I can use in conjunction with my MIDI keyboard so that it can be used like a sampler?

My keyboard came with some, but it's not brilliant. It has lots of functions like loop, one off, hold trigger, etc. But I was after something a bit more powerful where you could edit the WAV files or add FX within the same program.

Does such a program exist?

Gigasampler is a bit of a pain as it uses a lot of CPU resource and its not a native VST application, but it works ok www.nemesysmusic.com (i think its the right url)

Volksampler is probably good. I have the STS4000 which is the PULSAR DSP version so I dont know how the VST plugin works.. its probably good. www.creamware.com
